Well....I've been swimming 4 times now and I haven't died. This is a good sign. Although, something else happened which I can't imagine is a good sign.
I went swimming that Monday with two other friends. And a lady who was teaching a water aerobics class came over to us and said "I was watching you swimming {then gave that cringing look with her finger tips to her lips}. I just need to say that the only way you will improve in swimming is if you buy goggles and put your face in the water. You will never improve if you don't." Well other than the cringing, that was nice of her to stop what she was doing and give us some tips.
But...then we went back the next week and all had our nifty goggles and we were swimming around with our faces in the water, when she came up to us again. This time she said "You know, I don't know if you're interested in this, but I would be happy to come teach you all to swim on Wednesday and Friday mornings". HAHAHAHA
I'm not sure how we should take that. I'm guessing that we weren't doing such a good job on our own. BUT...Now we have our own personal swimming coach! This is awesome! She can watch us individually and help us each improve. I'm actually excited to swim now. Except for one minor little thing she told me. Every time I try to swim on my side to practice my kick, I sink. I was asking her about it and she just looked at me with a grin and said "Yea, you're a sinker".
WHAT??? A SINKER???? I can't swim a mile if I'm a sinker! haha I guess it's time to bust out the weights and start getting that kick stronger and my upper body stronger.
Everyone please pray for me. I don't want to die swimming (or sinking)!
